Watery Wednesday

White crane at the edge of the lake.
A few moments later it took off in flight.

I think it is a crane but also looked up an egret
and both pictures looked the same to me,
so I can't be sure what it is.

  4. Great shots. I remember seeing Egrets when we went to Australia and yous looks the same. We don't have them in Scotland.

  7. What a lovely capture - that water is so clear that I can see the rocks right below the surface. I do believe that is an egret. Nice shot of it in flight, too.

  8. Nice photos. If it was taken in the Mid-Atlantic area around Maryland it is probably a Great Egret (Ardea alba) We don't usually see Cranes in this part of the US. Even the Great Egret is a lucky find.
